USA, MA: Tree House Brewing Co. opens for the first time for the Charlton public
Tree House Brewing Co.'s highly anticipated new brewery in Charlton opened for the first time over the weekend, the Worcester Business Journal reported on July 18.
The brewery, which makes several of the country's top-rated beers, served its first pours on Saturday, July 15 at its new 52,000 square foot facility that includes 6,000 square feet of retail space, said Kimberly Golinski, the brewery's office manager. The facility had over 2,000 visitors that day and poured 3,000 pints, said Golinski. That may sound like a lot of visitors, but Tree House's Monson brewery sees 2,000 visitors on a typical Wednesday, she said.
The expansion allowed Tree House to double in size from a 30 barrel brew house to a 60 barrel, said Golinski. A canning machine has the ability to can up to 240 cans per minute, as opposed to 32 in Monson.
Hours are Wednesday 12 p.m.-9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., said Golinski. Cans will be available for purchase but pints and growlers won't be until things settle in a bit, she said.
The expansion was originally announced in March 2016, but co-founder Dean Rohan has said it has been in the works since the brewery opened up in Monson in 2015. The Monson location is temporarily closed and will reopen once the company gets a better handle on Charlton operations, said Golinski.
Tree House beers include Good Morning, an imperial stout, double IPAs like King Julius and Very Hazy, and several others.
